Ch-Ch-Changes!

So, I have decided to leave the Gorilla Companies, LLC. While I do love the company and couldn't ask for better co-workers...I feel like I have outgrown my position and need to break out of my little cocoon. This is something that I had only been contemplating for a while, but just a week ago I experience a whirlwind of events that culminated into my final decision. A close friend of mine has worked for a great company for the past 8 years and they are practically never hiring, well on a whim I thought I would look up their website and see what was out there. There was an open position at the Tempe branch for Operations Analysis so I decided to submit my resume that morning (that was on September 12). A few hours later my phone rings and it is a recruiter asking me to come in on Monday September 15 for an interview. I interview and leave around lunchtime, the interview lasted about an hour. 30 minutes later I get a call from the recruiter again asking me to come back on Thursday September 18 for a second interview with the Director of Operations. Eeeek, at this point I am pretty excited. I went to the second interview that lasted about 35 minutes. And the next morning September 19, they job offered me! The base salary they offered was exactly what I was looking for, so I was so glad that I didn't have to counter or mess with that. The benefits are great, with the option to work from home from time to time and it is a non-exempt position, so yay for overtime! I put in my two weeks notice with Gorilla that same day. It is very sad for me and the rest of the company to deal with, but I feel this is in my best interest. Gorilla is currently working on a counter offer, but I don't think they will be able to match this other company and I think I have plain just made up my mind!

I start on October 6, 2008 and while I am a little nervous I am definately excited!!!

First Birthday as a Wife and Mrs!!!

So, September 3rd was my birthday and it was my first as a new wifey! Garrett said I could pick anywhere I wanted to go for dinner, I knew right away where to go. I had been dying to try a new restaraunt at my favorite shopping center Tempe Marketplace called Maria Maria. Not only do I love it, because it is named after my first name - but, I am a HUGE Carlos Santana fan and this is actually his place. The food was spicy, but yummy. It is Mexican and Spanish food with a twist and a few added dollars on the price.
The artwork there is amazing and the staff is awesome, they even paid for my birthday dessert which was the most delicious key lime pie I had ever had! Garrett loved his skirt steak and after two tries I found some yummy enchiladas that didn't scald the heck out of my tounge. I would recommend this place to folks and I definately want to go back and sit on the patio outside...once it cools down, of course!
