Easter with Family!

Once again we celebrated Easter at one of the large ramadas at Kiwanis Park in Tempe. My family has been doing this for as long as I can remember...it is a super fun super busy day full of egg hunts, games, BBQ and plenty of children running around.

Fun with Family and Friends!!!

We wanted to celebrat the news of our little one with friends too, and if worked out great that the Ren Fair was in town....me, Garrett, Carrie and her husband Scott all met up at the Ren Fair and ate some yummy greasy food, frozen treats and pickles. The boys played plenty of games and we of course had to catch the Dead Bob Show....he is after all my favorite skeleton dude!!! A special thanks to my friend Melia, who wasn't able to make it...but she hooked us up with the tickets!

We also took my niece Natalia out for her birthday, we went to the Arizona Science Center and got to go to the planetarium and see the AZ skies. Garrett and Natalia played around in this really cool digital screen land...they're wacky those kids!!!

Valentine's Day!

So, we had a very nice Valentine's Day...we went to Juan Jaime's on the Friday before just for some good food and drinks (no drinks for me though, since i was going thru a "pre-pregnancy cleanse") then, we went to Boyce Thompson's Arboretum on Saturday and walked the lovely trails and went to the Language of Flowers exhibit. It was my first time there and I loved it, it is so beautiful and you really appreciate the beauty of AZ while you are up there....so quiet and serene. I totally want to go back soon!

In Memory of...Nana

Garrett's Nana Carol Christakis passed away on May 19, 2009. She was very loved and will be very missed:

It was a very sad time, but it was also filled with joy and laughter. It was nice to finally meet some of Garrett's family members that I had only heard about. We will all miss Nana!

Garrett's Graduation Glory!

My husband Garrett graduated from Arizona State University May 15, 2009 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. It was great to have all of his family and special friends there to celebrate with him. The following day we had a graduation party for him. Here are some pics from the ceremony and his party where he also sports his wicked karoke skills along with his pal Abe:

Our BIG News!!!

Yay, after about a year of marital bliss we decided to take the other plunge and work on starting a family!!! It actually took less time than we thought to hit the baby jackpot and I found out I was preggers on Feb. 24th...I kept it a secret for just a few days so that I could think of a special way to tell Garrett. I decided to take him out to dinner and give him a just because I love you "present", what I did was buy a cute baby onesie and I taped a sign to it that said "You are going to be a Daddy". I wrapped it up and gave it to him at the park after dinner. I can't say that he was very surprised since we had been trying, but I can say that he was VERY happy and just as thrilled as I was about our baby on the way! I can't wait to meet the little one and I just can't wait to be a great mommy with a great daddy by my side....We love you already so much Baby Lewis!!!!

Our First Wedding Anniversary!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary by staying at the San Carlos Hotel in downtown Phoenix and enjoying a nice dinner at Asi Es La Vida - the same restaurant that we held our rehearsal dinner at....we were lucky enough to have the same server and the same musician there...we love that place!

After dinner, we were sure to celebrate by unfreezing the top tier of our wedding cake and feeding one another just like on our big day. The cake held up surprisingly well over the past year and it didnt taste too bad at all.

It was nice to get away together for the weekend...Happy Anniversary to us!
