Putting on my planning hat!

So, my good friend Carrie's baby sister is getting married! How sweet! I am so excited for her. Carrie and Kristin have both allowed me to offer my services of being her DOC or Day of Coordinator - I am now doubly excited. Carrie is her Matron of Honor and I am helping her plan the bridal shower. We decided on the very trendy pink and brown theme. Since Krisitin loves polka dots, Carrie and I are going with pink and brown polka dots. Here is the invitation I designed for her...

I love Zazzle and I love all this planning stuff! I will post pics of the cake we are working on and her party when it happens. Yay! Congratulations Kristin and Jake!!

Summer is gone...but the heat's still on!

So, it is still hot hot hot here in AZ town - but Fall semester starts on Monday for Garrett. He is taking a full load of 18 credit hours. He will be kicking some mean biology butt! We were hoping he'd be done by December, but he still needs to get some lab experience under his belt, so it looks like he will wrap up in May instead. Hopefully, the extra couple of months will give him the chance to take on his own research project or help out one of the professors in the Biodesign department. I would be so jealous! He has been working so hard and even took Summer courses. He got a nice two week break, so that's good but it is back to the grindhouse on Monday. Go Garrett Go! Meanwhile, I am still plugging away with my fellow Gorillians. Things are definately changing, but I think they are changing for the better. We are still hoping to purchase our first home this Spring, right around the time we just might start trying for our own offspring, I mean cutesy, wootsy, baby!!!!!

But, I'll post about that later!

Post Wedding Stuff!

So, we finally got our wedding pics on DVD back from the photographers. This makes me super excited, because now I am able to post them on all my various websites, myspace etc. And most of all we can start making cool projects out of them like photobooks and our Thank You Cards. We had our album session with our photographers and we should receive our album from them with the pics that we chose in about 5 weeks. Hopefully, we should get the DVD of our wedding by the end of the month. We cant wait to see it, it all happened so fast, before I knew it I was tossing the bouquet! I was able to send out some of our pics in a snapfish photo album to our friends and family. Lots of them took pics too! My next project is to compile those pictures as well. Our friend Carlos's photos were awesome, they were so behind the scenes and I got to see stuff that I wasnt able to at the rehearsal dinner and that day! Yay!

Mini Honeymoons!

So...because Garrett is in school around the clock and I am working full time and just got vacation time this month. We have decided to take a series of "mini-honeymoons", for now. We probably won't be able to take a long week vacation until like Jan. or Feb. or something. When we do, we'll most likely end up on Hawaii or Mexico...some place warm and sunny!

In the meanwhile, we will have lots of fun on our mini's. I kinda like it that way...'cause we get lots of vacations as oppossed to just the one.

Our first is a long weekend in San Diego, CA and our second is a long weekend (the following week) in Las Vegas, NV. We'll probably do at least one or two more this year, depending on Garrett's schedule and what our event season looks like at work.

We'll post lots of pics, when we get 'em....Yay, we can't wait...So much fun!

We should have our DVD of the wedding in about two weeks, we can't wait. The ceremony was definately my favorite part of the day, not only because that was when I got to marry the most loving man ever, but it was just so glorious and dramatic. I can't wait to see it from the outside, looking in. Garrett and I often kid about how we wish we could've been guests at our own wedding, too!

Wedding Words Introduction

I have had many requests from some very nice brides-to-be regarding wedding ideas and planning tips. My profile is on Brides.com and they found our wedding website www.RamosLewisWedding.com in turn they emailed me and I have been asked for thoughts and ideas along the wedding planning way. So, I decided to get current on my blogging techniques and set up part of our blog for just wedding planning stuff called, "Wedding Words". I may or may not set up an entirely different blog address for the site, depending on the how messy AdelaAndGarrett.blogspot.com gets. This, however, is just installment #1 explaining what "Wedding Words" will be all about. I don't mind helping out all you brides-to-be, but I would appreciate if you gave me just a little bit of credit by saying how you found me (comments) and by sending pics of your amazing days, PLEASE! I am super behind in organizing my thoughts and ideas, but I will be much better, I promise! Give me a couple of weeks and we should be in full swing! Also, we are currently awaiting our wedding DVD and wedding photos on disc, so that I can organize and upload those ideas, too.
