High School Musical 3 and Halloween!

So, my niece has been dying to see HSM3 ever since she found out that the Disney people were actually releasing a 3rd one...I have never seen any of these, but when no one else was quick to volunteer to take her, I stepped up to the challenge. It actually wasn't that bad, the dancing was good, the songs were cute and it was a very wholesome film. I think I liked it...my niece sure did:

This Halloween Garrett had a test to study for and I have been super busy at the office, so we just took it easy. I passed out candy with my mom, the kids dressed up as Scream and Sharpe the blonde girl from HSM3, of course!

The next day of course was Dia de los Muertos, Garrett, Natalia and I went to historical downtown Chandler for a festival. We bought some stuff and made some crafts. We also made some new friends:

October Wedding Fun!

So, Carrie's sister gets married in a couple of weeks and Carrie is the Maid of Honor (no curse of the MOH, here) She asked me to go with her to help her pick out a dress, since her sister is a lot more laid back on the attire of the wedding party than I was (hah!) So, off we went searching at all major department stores until we finally just ended up at David's Bridal, where we made a fine selection if I do say so myself:

Then my new manager decides that she and her fiance are going to throw caution to the wind and get married on a Thursday downtown and forego all the unnecessary wedding drama, so my co-workers and I threw her a little post wedding shower at our office:

October = Good times with Friends!

So, our good friends Gina and Roy were in town for a few days and we met up with them for some good times at The Salty Senorita. It was Taco Tuesday night, yay, $1 tacos and $5 Coronitas in a bucket! So, we enjoyed ourselves with them and some other friends!

Later that week, I went my good friend Carrie's sister's "bachelorette" party, it was a murder mystery dinner...kind of cheezy but we had fun together!

Catching up from October...

Eeeek! I can't believe October is gone already! This was a super busy month for us. Garrett has been super loaded up with school and me with my new job....but we were still able to have some good times with friends and family this month...here's a quick run down:

Well, October 13th was Mom's birthday and October 15th was dad's. We had a birthday cake for each of them on their special days and then me, Garrett and my bro and his kids took them out to La Casa Blanca for dinner that Saturday night....it was the neatest place, very old Mexico and super yummy!
Awwww...mom and daddy are so cute! Okay, next post...more October stuff!

Krissy's Bridal Shower

So, this past weekend was Kristin's bridal shower that Carrie and I have been planning for weeks now. It went beautifully! Garrett was a super big help with all the favors. We went over to Carrie's mom's house after work on Friday and had dinner and made all the favors and baked all the cupcakes!

Here's some pics:

I wasn't sure what to do for a gift, I wanted to do something creative and then I remembered a cute idea for a kitchen utensil bouquet and with Garrett and my mom's help they helped my idea come to fruition:
Kristin really liked it, I got her the bouquet, a wedding memories book, some cute shimmery stuff and of course sexy panties!

I was also good enough to win every game we played here are my prizes:

The shower was lots of fun and I got lots of compliments on my cupcake cake! It was also super fun spending time with my friends and reliving all the girly wedding moments!

Sad day...

So, yesterday our family pet Zena died after 10 great years of love!!! She was such a smart and good girl and we will all miss her very much. She got sick last week and we spent all morning at the vet this past Saturday, they gave her some pain relief pills, but she still refused to eat anything. Then, yesterday morning she passed away. I am a firm believer that All Dogs go to Heaven...we love her and will miss her very much! I am still trying to gather some family pics of her, but I have to scan them into the computer since they are from before I had a digital camera, but I will soon. I did take a photo of her sleeping just this past Monday.

Love you little Zena and we miss you!!!

Eventful weekend!

So, last Friday a couple of friends from work, Garrett and I all met up for dinner at Logan's Roadhouse to be followed by a Night of Fright at one of the local haunted houses. Because I work for Gorilla we were able to get our friends and family in for free this night, so we made an event of it. It was pretty spooky and the special effects were awesome!!! After watching one of my co-workers cry due to a crazy chainsaw man chasing her, we called it a night with the house and headed over to Dave and Buster's for drinks and games. My pal Casey from the office and his very cute and pregnant wife also came along and it was nice to hang out and get to know each other better before I leave Gorilla forever! We all had fun and here are some pics to prove it:

It was also my nephew Emilio's birthday party on that Saturday, my sister threw him an Army themed party, the child is obsessed with LEGO's so that's pretty much what everyone got him on top of Army stuff of course:

Garrett and his friends then went off to Best of Phoenix, which is a pretty big deal every year and put on by the Phoenix New Times, I was sick with a cold so I opted not to go:

Then it was onto a celebration of my other nephew Jacob's birthday, he had a great Kung Fu Panda cake...that was super yummy:

It was a very busy weekend to say the least, but very fun, even with a cold!
